Project Overview

A one-week personal design challenge resulting in a software solution for IP protection, built to support legal teams in large companies dealing with counterfeiting and unlicensed products.

Timeframe

2026 | The execution lasted one week in total.

My responsibilities

I managed the project completely independently.

What I Learned

I studied the legal tech topic, learning about intellectual property protection. I also explored the B2B platform sector, learning how to manage large volumes of data in the cleanest and most user-friendly way.

Something about me

The global market for counterfeit and pirated goods was estimated at around USD 467 billion, accounting for approximately 2.3% of global imports.

Disney and other major companies regularly face legal cases. VERA is designed to reduce the costs associated with part of the IP-related issues. Specifically, the research and identification of counterfeit sellers.

Rethinking the Design Process with AI

After defining the software general architecture and sketching early wireframes on paper, I moved directly to AI-assisted design to generate dozens of high-fidelity design variants. I used Stitch AI to create the Hi-Fi wireframes, later integrating them into AI Studio for rapid prototyping. What would normally take at least a full week was completed in a single day. This allowed me to design the desktop app with a clear understanding of what would work and what wouldn’t.

01. Search IP Element

Search for a character, a keyword, or directly by the IP code you’re interested in. Select the folder from which the AI will retrieve reference images to compare products and search.

02. Analyze Results

The software returns a list of products, each with a probability score indicating how likely it is to be counterfeit. Products flagged with high confidence can be reported immediately, while those with lower certainty can be reviewed in the next step.

03. Choose the Legal Action to Take

Review the product by analyzing all available images, the characters detected by the AI, and the seller information. Then decide whether to ignore the item (no infringement) or proceed with legal action.

Manage all legal cases and company assets in a structured and organized way.

Dedicated folders for all your protected characters.
